Visual Aids
When delivering a speech, a visual aid is sometimes used to aid especially when someone wants to show how things look like or how things work. A visual aid is a graphic device that may be used in any type of speech to illustrate and support ideas (Adler, 2015). There are many types of visual aids and the main ones are: objects and models, diagrams, word and number charts, pie charts, bar and column charts, and line charts.
Rules for using visual aids:
- Simplicity
- Size
- Attractiveness
- Appropriateness
- Reliability
How to bake a cake:
To bake a cake, I would use media to create a YouTube clip that shows each step one by one. I could also bring in the supplies myself and demonstrate how to bake a cake step by step in person so the audience could actually see what to do.
